Human Cubilin (CUBN) ELISA Kit

Cubilin (CUBN) is a cotransporter that plays a role in lipoprotein, vitamin and iron metabolism by facilitating their uptake. It binds to a range of ligands including ALB, hemoglobin, TF, APOA1 and the GIF-cobalamin complex, with all ligand binding requiring calcium. The protein serves as an important transporter in absorptive epithelia, including the intestine, renal proximal tubules and the embryonic yolk sac. Defects in CUBN are a cause of recessive hereditary megaloblastic anemia 1, also known as Imerslund-Grasbeck syndrome, which results from selective malabsorption of vitamin B12.

Performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.156-10ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.081ng/mL. Precision is reported as an intra-assay CV of 8.1% and an inter-assay CV of 9.2%. Linearity has been validated across dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 in serum (97-118%), EDTA plasma (95-117%) and heparin plasma (87-120%). Recovery averages 92% (range 86-98%) for serum and 94% (range 88-100%) for plasma. The kit shows specificity for natural and recombinant human Cubilin and is classified within the Metabolism research area.
