Human CTSA/Cathepsin A ELISA Kit

A colorimetric sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie designed to measure Cathepsin A (CTSA) levels in human samples, including serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. Cathepsin A is a lysosomal enzyme involved in protein degradation, and its dysregulation has been linked to cardiovascular disorders, neurodegenerative diseases, and metabolic disorders, making it a valuable biomarker for research into these conditions.

Built on a double-antibody sandwich format, the assay offers a sensitivity of 46.875 pg/mL and a working range of 78.125–5000 pg/mL. In validation studies, serum samples showed an average recovery of 97% (range 93–102%), EDTA plasma averaged 96% (range 87–104%), and heparin plasma averaged 97% (range 89–103%). Linearity in serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma has been confirmed at dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, and 1:8. The procedure uses sequential incubations with a biotin-labeled detection antibody and HRP-streptavidin (SABC), followed by TMB substrate development and absorbance reading at 450 nm. Kits should be stored at 2-8°C for 12 months.
