Human COX5A ELISA Kit

This Sandwich (Double Antibody) ELISA kit from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative measurement of human COX5A (Cytochrome c oxidase subunit 5A, mitochondrial) in serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. The assay employs a pre-coated antibody specific to the target, a biotinylated detection antibody, and HRP-conjugated Streptavidin with TMB substrate, producing a colorimetric signal read at 450 nm that is proportional to COX5A concentration.

Performance characteristics reported in the product documentation include a sensitivity of 0.188 ng/mL and a standard curve range of 0.313–20 ng/mL. Spike-and-recovery testing gave average values of 95% for serum (n=5), 96% for EDTA plasma (n=5), and 94% for heparin plasma (n=5), with corresponding recovery ranges of 86–103%, 86–103%, and 85–101%. Linearity across 1:2, 1:4, and 1:8 dilutions was 93–105%/92–98%/93–101% for serum, 83–99%/89–101%/83–99% for EDTA plasma, and 83–100%/82–99%/90–100% for heparin plasma. The kit is supplied with components for either 48 or 96 assays, including a dismountable ELISA microplate, lyophilized standard, biotin-labeled antibody (100X), HRP-Streptavidin conjugate (SABC, 100X), TMB substrate, sample and antibody dilution buffers, SABC dilution buffer, stop solution, 25X wash buffer, Bradford reagent, plate sealer, and a technical manual, with most liquid reagents stored at 2–8°C.

COX5A is a component of the mitochondrial respiratory chain linked to cellular energy production, and its dysregulation has been associated with metabolic and neurodegenerative conditions. The kit is intended for research use only.
