Human COX-1/PTGS1 ELISA Kit

Manufactured by Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA, Double Antibody kit is intended for the quantitative measurement of cyclooxygenase-1 (prostaglandin-endoperoxide synthase 1; PTGS1) in human samples. The assay has a stated sensitivity of 0.375 ng/mL and a working range of 0.625–40 ng/mL. Validated sample types include serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. Cyclooxygenase-1 is an enzyme involved in prostaglandin production and pathways of inflammation and pain signaling, and its dysregulation has been associated with arthritis, cardiovascular conditions, and certain cancers.

Reported linearity for serum (n = 5) is 86–102%, 86–101% and 88–105% at 1:2, 1:4 and 1:8 dilutions respectively; EDTA plasma (n = 5): 85–101%, 89–98%, 82–101%; heparin plasma (n = 5): 86–100%, 81–100%, 81–99%. Spike-and-recovery values are 85–103% (average 95%) for serum, 85–98% (average 92%) for EDTA plasma, and 86–105% (average 98%) for heparin plasma. The detection method is colorimetric, with absorbance read at 450 nm after TMB substrate development. Kits should be stored at 2–8°C, where they remain stable for 12 months.
