Manufactured by Assay Genie, this colorimetric Sandwich ELISA Kit is designed for the quantitative measurement of human corticosteroid-binding globulin (SERPINA6), also known as Serpin A6, Transcortin, and CBG. The assay is intended for research use only and is reactive with human samples, including serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants, and other biological fluids.

Performance characteristics include a detection range of 1.56-100ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.73ng/mL, with an intra-assay CV of 4.9% and inter-assay CV of 9.5%. Specificity is reported for natural and recombinant human corticosteroid-binding globulin. Linearity in serum (N=5) was 110-118%, 99-109%, 98-108%, and 107-118% at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8, and 1:16 dilutions respectively. EDTA plasma (N=5) showed 98-108%, 96-106%, 100-108%, and 86-96%, while heparin plasma (N=5) showed 92-105%, 104-113%, 100-112%, and 110-122%. Recovery averaged 101% (95-107%) for serum and 103% (97-109%) for plasma.

Corticosteroid-binding globulin is encoded by the SERPINA6 gene and functions as a major transport protein for glucocorticoids and progestins in the blood of almost all vertebrate species. The protein has a molecular weight of 45,141 Da, is secreted, and is associated with the signal transduction research area.
