Human Connexin 26/GJB2 ELISA Kit

Connexin 26 is a critical protein involved in cell-to-cell communication, particularly in the auditory system, where mutations in the GJB2 gene have been linked to congenital hearing loss. The kit is therefore positioned for studies of hearing-disorder pathogenesis and the development of targeted therapies. Quoted specifications include a sensitivity of 0.188 ng/mL and a working range of 0.313–20 ng/mL. Kits are shipped for storage at 2–8 °C and remain stable for 12 months under those conditions.

Validation data: average recovery is 99% (range 92–105%) in serum (n=5), 94% (86–100%) in EDTA plasma (n=5) and 92% (85–104%) in heparin plasma (n=5). Linearity at 1:2, 1:4 and 1:8 dilutions falls within 81–105% across the same matrices. The protocol uses a TMB substrate read at 450 nm, with incubations of 90 minutes (antigen binding), 60 minutes (biotinylated detection antibody) and 30 minutes (HRP-streptavidin) at 37 °C, followed by 10–20 minutes of colour development in the dark.
