Human Complement factor D/Factor D ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative measurement of human Complement factor D in serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysates, and other biological fluids. The assay uses a double antibody sandwich detection format with colorimetric readout measured at 450 nm, delivering a sensitivity of 0.188 ng/mL and a working range of 0.313–20 ng/mL.

The capture antibody is pre-coated onto the microplate. Standards and samples are incubated to allow target binding, followed by sequential addition of a biotin-labelled detection antibody, an HRP-Streptavidin conjugate (SABC), and TMB substrate. The HRP-catalysed reaction produces a coloured product measured at 450 nm, with analyte concentration positively correlated with OD450.

Complement factor D (UniProt P00746) is a key component of the complement system, involved in fighting infections and regulating inflammation. Dysregulation has been linked to autoimmune diseases and inflammatory disorders, making it a useful biomarker for related research. Reagents are stored at 2–8°C and the kit is intended for research use only.
