Human Complement component C8 beta chain (C8B) ELISA Kit

Manufactured by Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA kit is intended for the quantitative detection of Complement component C8 beta chain (C8B) in human samples. The assay reacts with human specimens and is validated for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, with specificity for both natural and recombinant human C8B. Detection is performed colorimetrically, with a reported detection range of 0.312–20 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.156 ng/mL. Reported precision values are an intra-assay CV of 4.9% and an inter-assay CV of 8.5%.

Linearity has been assessed across serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma matrices at dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16. Recovery data report an average of 103% (range 97–109%) for serum and 105% (range 99–111%) for plasma. The target, also known as Complement component 8 subunit beta (UniProt P07358), is a secreted constituent of the membrane attack complex (MAC) that contributes to innate and adaptive immunity by forming pores in target cell membranes.
