Human Complement component C8 alpha chain (C8A) ELISA Kit

A high-quality sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative measurement of human Complement component C8 alpha chain (C8A) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The assay shows specificity for natural and recombinant human C8A.

The double-antibody sandwich format uses a biotin-conjugated detection antibody with HRP-conjugated avidin, TMB substrate and absorbance measurement at 450 nm ± 2 nm. Stated performance figures include a detection range of 12.5-800ng/mL, sensitivity of 3.12ng/mL, average serum recovery of 103% (range 97-109%) and average plasma recovery of 105% (range 99-111%). C8A is a constituent of the membrane attack complex (MAC) involved in innate and adaptive immunity by forming pores in target cell membranes; the alpha chain inserts into the target membrane but does not form pores by itself.
