Human Complement component C6 (C6) ELISA Kit

Assay Genie provides a Sandwich ELISA Kit for the quantitative measurement of human Complement component C6 (C6). Designed to deliver high sensitivity and specificity, the kit enables detection of C6 in human serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids.

Reported performance includes a detection range of 15.6–1000 pg/mL, a sensitivity of 8.02 pg/mL, an intra-assay CV of 4.2% and an inter-assay CV of 6.4%. Linearity was evaluated at dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16, returning 84–94%, 83–94%, 102–112% and 95–105% in serum (N=5); 109–118%, 92–104%, 112–122% and 90–100% in EDTA plasma (N=5); and 101–111%, 103–113%, 105–117% and 104–113% in heparin plasma (N=5). Mean recovery was 87% (range 81–93%) in serum and 89% (range 83–95%) in plasma.

Complement component C6 is a constituent of the membrane attack complex (MAC), forming pores in target cell membranes as part of the innate and adaptive immune response. The assay is specific for natural and recombinant human C6, is categorised under the Neurosciences research area, and is intended for research use only.
