Human Complement C8A ELISA Kit

Assay Genie offers a Sandwich ELISA kit for the quantitative measurement of human Complement component C8 alpha chain (C8A), a constituent of the membrane attack complex (MAC) that plays a key role in innate and adaptive immunity. The kit detects C8A in serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate and other biological fluids, and is intended for research applications in immunology and inflammation.

Two related formats are described in the manufacturer's documentation. One kit lists a sensitivity of 7.5 ng/mL with a detection range of 12.5–800 ng/mL, and a sandwich, double-antibody detection method with linearity in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma across 1:2 to 1:8 dilutions (e.g. serum 87–98%, 90–105%, 88–104%) and recovery averaging 97% (serum), 99% (EDTA plasma) and 96% (heparin plasma). The other kit lists a sensitivity of 3.12 ng/mL with the same 12.5–800 ng/mL detection range, intra-assay CV of 6.2%, inter-assay CV of 11.3%, linearity in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma across 1:2 to 1:16 dilutions, and recovery averaging 103% (serum, range 97–109%) and 105% (plasma, range 99–111%). Both list UniProt P07357 and recognise natural and recombinant human C8A.

Detection is colorimetric, read at 450 nm after TMB development, and the kits are stored at 2–8°C (with standards and plate strips also suitable for −20°C storage for longer-term use).
