Human COMP/Cartilage oligomeric matrix protein ELISA Kit

A colorimetric Sandwich ELISA (double antibody) from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative measurement of human COMP (Cartilage Oligomeric Matrix Protein) in serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. The assay offers a sensitivity of 0.375 ng/mL with a working range of 0.625–40 ng/mL, is reactive with human samples, and is stored at 2–8°C for 12 months.

COMP is a vital structural protein in cartilage, and abnormal levels have been associated with musculoskeletal disorders such as osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis, making it a valuable biomarker for cartilage biology and related disease research. Known synonyms include EDM1, EPD1, MED, PSACH, THBS5 and TSP-5 (UniProt P49747). The kit is classified within the Cell Death research area.

Performance has been validated across serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma, with linearity of 84–105% across 1:2 to 1:8 dilutions and recovery of 86–103%. The procedure involves equilibrating reagents and TMB substrate, a 90-minute primary incubation at 37°C, biotinylated detection antibody binding, HRP-Streptavidin binding, TMB color development, and absorbance reading at 450 nm. Included components comprise a dismountable ELISA microplate, lyophilized standard, biotin-labeled antibody, HRP-Streptavidin conjugate, TMB substrate, sample and antibody dilution buffers, SABC dilution buffer, stop solution, wash buffer, plate sealer and a technical manual.
