Human Collagen Type XVII (COL17) ELISA Kit

The Assay Genie kit enables quantitative measurement of Collagen Type XVII (COL17), a transmembrane hemidesmosomal protein also known as BP180 that anchors basal epidermal keratinocytes to the underlying basement membrane. Investigators working on bullous pemphigoid, epidermolysis bullosa acquisita, junctional epidermolysis bullosa, and related autoimmune blistering disorders apply this in vitro assay to compare protein expression in clinical specimens against healthy controls. The kit is configured as 96 assays supplied in vials with a microplate for use in standard plate readers. Tissue specimens such as skin biopsies are homogenized in chilled lysis buffer, clarified by centrifugation, and the supernatant is loaded directly. Serum-derived or plasma-derived samples can typically be assayed without predilution. Reagents should be stored refrigerated upon arrival; reconstituted standards and detection antibody are best reserved frozen in working aliquots to preserve activity through multiple freeze-thaw cycles.
