Human Collagen alpha-3 (IX)chain (COL9A3) ELISA Kit

The Assay Genie Sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the quantitative measurement of human Collagen alpha-3 (IX) chain (COL9A3) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. COL9A3 is a key component of the extracellular matrix in cartilage, where it plays a crucial role in maintaining cartilage integrity and function. Dysregulation of COL9A3 has been linked to musculoskeletal disorders including osteoarthritis and intervertebral disc degeneration, making it a valuable biomarker for research into these conditions and the development of potential treatments.

The assay has a detection range of 0.78-50 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.23 ng/mL, with an intra-assay CV of 4.9% and an inter-assay CV of 9.6%. Specificity covers natural and recombinant human Collagen alpha-3(IX) chain. Recovery has been validated in serum (average 101%, range 95-107%) and plasma (average 103%, range 97-109%), with linear performance demonstrated in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma across a range of dilutions. The target protein is a structural component of hyaline cartilage and the vitreous of the eye, and forms a heterotrimer with an alpha 1(IX) and an alpha 2(IX) chain. The kit is for research use only.
