Human Collagen alpha-1 (XXVII)chain/COL27A1 ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative measurement of human Collagen alpha-1 (XXVII) chain (COL27A1) in serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. The assay uses a double-antibody format and reports a sensitivity of 4.688 ng/mL with a detection range of 7.813–500 ng/mL. According to the manufacturer's linearity data, serum samples show 85–105% across 1:2 to 1:8 dilutions, EDTA plasma 83–101%, and heparin plasma 83–100%, with corresponding average spike-recovery values of 93%, 91% and 96% respectively. The kit is stored at 2–8 °C for 12 months.

COL27A1 is a fibrillar collagen implicated in the calcification of cartilage and the transition of cartilage to bone, making it of interest in studies of skeletal development and connective tissue biology. The assay is specific for natural and recombinant human COL27A1, which is reported as a secreted extracellular matrix component localised on small banded collagen fibrils and meshworks.
