Human Collagen alpha-1 (XV)chain (COL15A1) ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this sandwich ELISA is designed for the quantitative detection of human Collagen alpha-1(XV) chain (COL15A1) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids. The kit is specific for natural and recombinant human COL15A1 and is supplied for research use only.

COL15A1 is a member of the multiplexin collagen family and functions as a stabiliser of microvessels and muscle cells in heart and skeletal muscle, with strongest expression at basement membrane zones. The proteolytically produced C-terminal fragment, restin, potently inhibits angiogenesis. Dysregulation of COL15A1 has been associated with connective tissue disorders, cardiovascular disease and cancer, supporting its use as a biomarker in signal transduction research. The protein is secreted into the extracellular space and matrix, where it forms a disulphide-linked trimer (UniProt P39059).

Performance characteristics reported by Assay Genie include a detection range of 0.156–10 ng/mL, a sensitivity of 0.098 ng/mL, an intra-assay CV of 4.1% and an inter-assay CV of 7.8%. Recovery is reported as a serum average of 88% (range 82–94%) and a plasma average of 90% (range 84–96%).
