Human Collagen alpha-1 (III)chain (COL3A1) ELISA Kit

This Sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative measurement of human Collagen alpha-1(III) chain (COL3A1) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids. The colorimetric assay is specific for natural and recombinant human COL3A1 and is for research use only.

Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 3.12-200 ng/mL, a sensitivity of 1.2 ng/mL, an intra-assay CV of 5.9% and an inter-assay CV of 8.5%. Recovery in serum averages 96% (range 90-102%) and in plasma averages 98% (range 92-104%). COL3A1 is a secreted extracellular matrix protein (UniProt P02461) studied in signal transduction research.

COL3A1 is a fibrillar collagen found alongside type I collagen in soft connective tissues. Aberrant COL3A1 levels have been associated with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, aortic aneurysm and other connective tissue disorders, supporting its use as a biomarker in disease research.
