Human Collagen alpha-1 (I)chain (COL1A1) ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative measurement of human Collagen alpha-1 (I) chain (COL1A1), also known as Alpha-1 type I collagen. COL1A1 is a key component of collagen, the most abundant protein in the human body that provides structure and strength to tissues such as skin, bones, and tendons, and its dysregulation has been implicated in conditions including osteogenesis imperfecta, osteoporosis and fibrosis.

The assay is intended for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, and detects natural and recombinant human Collagen alpha-1(I) chain. The kit has a detection range of 0.47–30 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.117 ng/mL. Reported precision values are an intra-assay CV of 6.9% and an inter-assay CV of 9.1%.

Linearity has been evaluated in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma across dilution factors of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16, with serum ranging 95–123%, EDTA plasma 80–115% and heparin plasma 93–116%. Recovery is reported at 96–108% in serum and 98–110% in plasma. The associated UniProt entry is P02452; type I collagen forms trimers of one alpha 2(I) and two alpha 1(I) chains.
