Human COL7 (Collagen Type VII) ELISA Kit (HUES01919)

A sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie for the quantitative measurement of human Collagen Type VII (COL7) in serum, plasma and other biological fluids, including cell culture supernatants. COL7 is a key structural component of anchoring fibrils in the skin and is essential for maintaining the structural integrity of the skin's basement membrane; mutations in the COL7 gene are associated with dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa, supporting its relevance to research into skin disease and wound healing.

The assay uses a sandwich-ELISA format with a colorimetric readout. A microplate pre-coated with antibody specific to COL7 is provided; standards or samples are added, followed by a biotinylated detection antibody and an Avidin-HRP conjugate. After addition of substrate and stop solution, optical density is read at 450 nm ± 2 nm. Reported sensitivity is 0.1 ng/mL with a detection range of 0.16–10 ng/mL. Recovery falls between 80%–120%, and the full protocol can be completed in 3 h 30 min using a 100 μL sample volume. The kit recognizes human COL7 with no significant cross-reactivity or interference from analogues.

Components are intended for storage at 2–8°C, with select items held at –20°C, protected from light, for 12 months. The kit is suited to research areas including Cancer and Signal Transduction.
