Human COL4A1/Collagen IV alpha 1 ELISA Kit

A sandwich (double-antibody) ELISA from Assay Genie for the quantitative measurement of human COL4A1 (Collagen IV alpha 1) in serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. The assay uses a colorimetric detection method and is reported to offer a sensitivity of 0.188 ng/mL with a working range of 0.313-20 ng/mL. Unopened kit components are stored at 2-8°C for 12 months.

Reported performance includes linearity at 1:2, 1:4, and 1:8 dilutions in serum (91-105%, 85-101%, 83-99%), EDTA plasma (92-104%, 82-94%, 85-99%), and heparin plasma (88-100%, 82-99%, 82-98%), and spike-recovery averages of 98% for serum (range 90-104%), 93% for EDTA plasma (range 86-101%), and 99% for heparin plasma (range 92-104%). The protocol comprises a 90-minute primary incubation at 37°C on the pre-coated plate, a 60-minute biotinylated detection antibody step, a 30-minute HRP-streptavidin incubation, 10-20 minutes of TMB development in the dark, and absorbance readout at 450 nm.

Collagen IV alpha 1 is a key component of basement membranes that provides structural support and influences cell behaviour, and its dysregulation has been implicated in kidney disorders, cardiovascular diseases, and certain cancers. The kit is intended for research use.
