Human COL3A1/Collagen III ELISA Kit

Assay Genie provides a Sandwich ELISA, Double Antibody format for the quantitative detection of human COL3A1 (Collagen III). The assay is validated for use with serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples, and is intended for research applications in cell biology where collagen III serves as a biomarker. Final absorbance is read at 450 nm following TMB substrate development.

Reported performance figures include a sensitivity of 18.75 pg/mL and a working range of 31.25–2000 pg/mL. Linearity in spiked serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma (n = 5) at 1:2, 1:4 and 1:8 dilutions falls between 83% and 103% across the matrices. Recovery for serum (n = 5) is reported as 88–105% (average 97%), EDTA plasma (n = 5) 91–105% (average 97%), and heparin plasma (n = 5) 93–105% (average 98%). Unopened kit components are stored at 2–8°C for 12 months.

Collagen III is described as a key component of the extracellular matrix that contributes to the structural integrity of tissues such as skin, blood vessels, and organs, and changes in its levels have been linked to fibrosis, arthritis, and wound healing. The kit has been cited in studies of cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma using the biomarker ACTN1 (Skin Research & Technology, 2023).
