For investigators working on hemostasis, anticoagulant pathways, and thrombotic disease research, this quantitative immunoassay from Assay Genie offers a way to quantify Protein C across diverse human-derived specimens. Protein C, historically designated Coagulation Factor XIV, is a vitamin K-dependent plasma zymogen that, once activated, cleaves and inactivates coagulation Factors Va and VIIIa, helping to restrain clot propagation. The kit is supplied for 96 assays in a microplate format with a colorimetric readout. Typical research applications include evaluating acquired or inherited Protein C deficiency in thrombophilia studies, tracking changes in the protein C pathway during inflammatory, sepsis, or vascular injury models, and supporting bioprocess development of recombinant Protein C expression systems. The assay follows standard ELISA workflow steps and is intended for research use only.
