Human Coagulation factor XII (F12) ELISA Kit

Supplied by Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA is designed for the precise measurement of factor XII levels in human serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The kit is reactive with human samples and demonstrates specificity for natural and recombinant human Coagulation factor XII, also known as Hageman factor (HAF). It is intended for research use only.

Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 78-5000pg/mL, a sensitivity of 34pg/mL, an intra-assay CV of 6.1% and an inter-assay CV of 8.9%. Recovery in serum averaged 87% (range 81-93%) and in plasma averaged 89% (range 83-95%). Linearity across dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 (N=5 per matrix) was 89-99%, 95-105%, 101-110% and 108-117% for serum; 108-118%, 88-99%, 85-95% and 101-109% for EDTA plasma; and 102-112%, 100-111%, 102-111% and 103-115% for heparin plasma.

Factor XII is a secreted serum glycoprotein that participates in the initiation of blood coagulation, fibrinolysis, and the generation of bradykinin and angiotensin. Prekallikrein is cleaved by factor XII to form kallikrein, which then cleaves factor XII first to alpha-factor XIIa and then trypsin cleaves it to beta-factor XIIa.
