Coagulation Factor XI (FXI) is a 160 kDa plasma serine protease zymogen that drives the intrinsic pathway of blood coagulation via contact activation. Investigators in hemostasis, vascular medicine, and pharmacology use this human-specific immunoassay from Assay Genie to quantify FXI antigen in plasma samples, serum specimens, and conditioned media from cultured cells. Applications include characterizing hemophilia C (FXI deficiency), stratifying venous thromboembolism risk, and monitoring pharmacodynamic responses to next-generation FXI inhibitors being evaluated as antithrombotic agents.
