Human Coagulation factor VIII (F8) ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA Kit is intended for the quantitative measurement of human Coagulation factor VIII (F8) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, with a colorimetric detection method. Factor VIII is described as a critical coagulation factor essential for proper blood clotting, with dysregulation or deficiency linked to serious bleeding disorders such as hemophilia A.

The assay detects natural and recombinant human Coagulation factor VIII, with a detection range of 0.312-20 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.1 ng/mL. Intra-assay CV is given as 5.2% and inter-assay CV as 9.2%. Linearity was assessed in serum, EDTA plasma, and heparin plasma at dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8, and 1:16. Reported recovery averaged 98% (range 92-104%) for serum and 100% (range 94-106%) for plasma. The kit is for research use only.

Functionally, Factor VIII acts along with calcium and phospholipid as a cofactor for F9/factor IXa in the conversion of F10/factor X to its activated form, factor Xa. The protein is secreted into the extracellular space and interacts with VWF/vWF, with vWF binding being essential for the stabilization of F8 in circulation.
