Assay Genie's Human Contactin-1 (CNTN1) ELISA Kit is a sandwich ELISA designed for the quantitative measurement of Contactin-1 in human samples. Contactin-1, also known by the synonyms Glycoprotein gp135 and Neural cell surface protein F3, is detected in both natural and recombinant forms.

The kit accepts serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids, and reports a detection range of 0.156–10 ng/mL with a sensitivity of 0.056 ng/mL. Reported precision is an intra-assay CV of 6.1% and an inter-assay CV of 8.8%. Recovery averages 106% (range 100–112%) in serum and 108% (range 102–114%) in plasma, with serum dilution linearity (1:2–1:16) spanning 86–125% across serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma matrices.

Contactin-1 is a GPI-anchored neuronal membrane protein (UniProt Q12860; chromosomal location 12q11–q12) that mediates cell surface interactions during nervous system development. It contributes to the formation of paranodal axo-glial junctions in myelinated peripheral nerves, signals between axons and myelinating glial cells via association with CNTNAP1, and supports oligodendrocyte generation as a ligand of NOTCH1. The kit is intended for research use only within the neurosciences, supporting studies of Contactin-1 as a biomarker in disorders such as autism, schizophrenia and epilepsy.
