CLEC4M (also known as DC-SIGNR, L-SIGN, or CD299) is a calcium-dependent type II transmembrane lectin expressed primarily on sinusoidal endothelial cells of the liver and lymph node, where it binds mannose- and fucose-bearing glycans on pathogens and interacts with ICAM-3 on lymphocytes. Quantitative measurement of human CLEC4M in research samples is supported by the immunoassay from Assay Genie, intended for research use only.

The microplate-based kit includes a pre-coated capture antibody plate, biotinylated detection antibody, streptavidin-HRP conjugate, chromogenic substrate, concentrated recombinant standard, wash buffer, and dilution buffer sufficient to run samples, standards, and controls on a single plate. The enzymatic reaction produces an absorbance change proportional to CLEC4M concentration, and values are interpolated from the standard curve generated in parallel with each run.

Peripheral blood collected by standard venipuncture can be processed to serum through clotting and centrifugation, or to plasma using EDTA, heparin, or citrate anticoagulants. Promptly aliquot samples; refrigerate at standard cold-storage temperatures for use within a few days, or freeze aliquots at or below -20 °C for longer-term storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, which can compromise the native lectin structure. Each kit is configured for human CLEC4M and is not validated for diagnostic or clinical use.
