The Cleaved BID/TBID kit from Assay Genie is calibrated to detect only the caspase-8-truncated fragment of BH3-interacting domain death agonist generated at the Asp59 cleavage site, the activated form that translocates to mitochondria, oligomerizes BAX and BAK, and drives cytochrome c release and downstream caspase-9 activation. It supports research on death receptor pathways such as Fas/CD95 and TRAIL, mitochondrial outer membrane permeabilization, and the interplay between pro- and anti-apoptotic Bcl-2 family proteins in tumor biology, neurodegeneration, and ischemia-reperfusion injury models.
