The CKAP4 quantitative immunoassay from Assay Genie measures cytoskeleton-associated protein 4, a type II transmembrane protein first characterized at the endoplasmic reticulum membrane where it anchors ribosomes and supports palmitoylated-protein trafficking. Beyond its structural role, CKAP4 functions as a cell-surface receptor for secreted ligands including Dickkopf-1 and tissue factor pathway inhibitor, linking it to Wnt signaling, coagulation cascades, and tumor-microenvironment cross-talk. Altered CKAP4 expression has been documented in lung, breast, and pancreatic malignancies, and the marker is being explored as a circulating indicator of tumor burden in translational studies.
