Description

This Sandwich ELISA Kit from Assay Genie is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of Human CIRBP (Cold-inducible RNA-binding protein) concentrations in serum, plasma, cell lysates, cell culture supernatants, urine, cerebrospinal fluid, breast milk, and tissue homogenates and lysates. The immunoassay uses a colorimetric double-antibody sandwich format and is intended for Research Use Only.

The kit reports a sensitivity of 9.375 pg/mL and a working range of 15.625-1000 pg/mL. Precision is stated as intra-assay CV <8% and inter-assay CV <10%. Spike-and-recovery performance averages 95% in serum (range 90-102%), 92% in EDTA plasma (range 86-96%), and 96% in UFH plasma (range 90-104%), with consistent linearity demonstrated across serial dilutions of each matrix. Unopened kit components are stored at 4°C for 6 months.

CIRBP is a cold-inducible mRNA-binding protein (UniProt Q14011; NCBI Gene ID 1153) of approximately 19 kDa. UniProt annotation describes it as a protective factor in the genotoxic stress response that stabilises transcripts of cell-survival genes, acts as a translational activator, and contributes to cold-induced suppression of cell proliferation. It binds the 3'-untranslated regions of stress-responsive transcripts RPA2 and TXN, also functioning as a translational repressor, and promotes assembly of stress granules when overexpressed. CIRBP has been implicated in inflammation, tissue injury, and cancer, and the kit is listed within Assay Genie's Metabolism research area.
