Human Ciliary neurotrophic factor (CNTF) ELISA Kit

Manufactured by Assay Genie, this sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the quantitative measurement of human Ciliary Neurotrophic Factor (CNTF) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids. The assay detects natural and recombinant human CNTF, employing a colorimetric detection method with a detection range of 62.5-4000 pg/mL and a sensitivity of 15.6 pg/mL.

Reported performance characteristics include an intra-assay CV of 6.5% and an inter-assay CV of 10.3%. Linearity has been evaluated across dilution ratios from 1:2 to 1:16 in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma. Recovery averages 101% (range 95-107%) in serum and 103% (range 97-109%) in plasma. The kit is for research use only and is intended for applications in the neurosciences research area.

CNTF functions as a survival factor for various neuronal cell types and is reported to help prevent the degeneration of motor axons after axotomy.
