Human Chymotrypsinogen B1 (CTRB1) ELISA Kit

The Assay Genie CTRB1 immunoassay provides researchers with a quantitative tool for studying human chymotrypsinogen B1, a pancreatic serine protease zymogen encoded on chromosome 16q23.1. Chymotrypsinogen B1 is synthesized by pancreatic acinar cells and secreted into the duodenum, where trypsin activates it into chymotrypsin B, which then hydrolyzes peptide bonds adjacent to aromatic and large hydrophobic residues such as phenylalanine, tyrosine, and leucine.

Intended for in vitro research use only, this kit supports investigations of pancreatic exocrine function, chronic pancreatitis, pancreatic insufficiency, and the role of CTRB1 genetic variants in diabetes susceptibility. CTRB1 polymorphisms have been reproducibly associated with type 1 and type 2 diabetes risk in GWAS studies, making reliable quantification of circulating CTRB1 protein valuable for biomarker and translational research programs.

The microplate-based immunoassay uses a chromogenic substrate for absorbance readout on a standard spectrophotometer and is supplied as a complete kit containing a pre-coated plate, capture and detection antibodies, recombinant standards, wash buffer, assay diluent, and substrate solution. It enables measurement of circulating CTRB1 protein concentrations in human-derived research samples.
