Chromogranin B (CHGB) is an acidic secretory glycoprotein stored in the dense-core granules of neuroendocrine and endocrine cells, where it is co-released with peptide hormones and biogenic amines during exocytosis. Quantifying circulating CHGB is useful in research on neuroendocrine tumors (NETs), particularly well-differentiated pancreatic and gastrointestinal NETs where it complements Chromogranin A as a serological marker. It is also studied in cardiovascular and inflammatory contexts, including atrial myocyte signaling, pheochromocytoma models, and granulocyte biology, given its abundant expression in those lineages.

This Assay Genie immunoassay is supplied as a 96-assay colorimetric ELISA with all required reagents and a pre-coated plate included for batch processing. The kit is configured for research use only and is validated for human-derived sample matrices, including clotted-blood serum, anticoagulated plasma, and tissue homogenate preparations. With materials for 96 individual determinations per box, the format provides capacity for a full standard curve, internal quality controls, and a usable batch of unknown specimens in a single experimental run.

The workflow follows conventional ELISA practice: standards and unknown samples are added to the pre-coated plate, followed by a biotinylated detection antibody, streptavidin-HRP conjugate, and a chromogenic substrate that produces a measurable color change on a standard microplate reader. Results are interpreted against the supplied calibrator curve to support either relative or absolute quantification depending on the researcher's needs, with intra-assay precision suitable for comparing treatment groups within a single experimental plate.
