Human Chondroadherin (CHAD) ELISA Kit

A colourimetric Sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative measurement of human Chondroadherin (CHAD), a cartilage matrix protein thought to mediate adhesion of isolated chondrocytes. The kit supports research into cartilage formation and maintenance, with particular relevance to studies of osteoarthritis and related musculoskeletal disorders.

The assay accepts serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. Performance specifications include a detection range of 78-5000 pg/mL and a sensitivity of 23 pg/mL. Reported precision values are an intra-assay CV of 4.1% and an inter-assay CV of 7.3%. Recovery has been validated for serum (average 98%, range 92-104%) and plasma (average 100%, range 94-106%), with linearity demonstrated across serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma preparations at serial dilutions. Specificity is established for both natural and recombinant human Chondroadherin. The kit is intended for research use only.

Functionally, CHAD is a secreted extracellular matrix protein that promotes the attachment of chondrocytes, fibroblasts and osteoblasts via integrin α2β1 and contributes to the regulation of chondrocyte growth and proliferation. The protein is predominantly monomeric and interacts with collagen type II.
