Human Cholesterol side-chain cleavage enzyme, mitochondrial (CYP11A1) ELISA Kit

This sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative detection of human cholesterol side-chain cleavage enzyme, mitochondrial (CYP11A1) in research samples. The assay recognises natural and recombinant human CYP11A1, a mitochondrial membrane protein that interacts with FDX1/adrenodoxin and catalyses the side-chain cleavage of cholesterol to pregnenolone, the first and rate-limiting step in steroid hormone biosynthesis. The kit is validated for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. Reported performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.312–20 ng/mL, a sensitivity of 0.1 ng/mL, an intra-assay CV of 5.3% and an inter-assay CV of 9.6%. Recovery has been documented for serum (average 101%, range 95–107%) and plasma (average 103%, range 97–109%), and linearity has been assessed in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma across dilution series from 1:2 to 1:16.
