Human Cholesterol 7-alpha-monooxygenase (CYP7A1) ELISA Kit

From Assay Genie, this Sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the quantitative detection of human Cholesterol 7-alpha-monooxygenase (CYP7A1). The assay is reactive with human samples and has been validated for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates, and other biological fluids.

CYP7A1 is a cytochrome P450 monooxygenase that catalyses the 7-alpha hydroxylation of cholesterol, acting as a rate-limiting enzyme in bile acid biosynthesis and cholesterol homeostasis. It belongs to the cytochrome P450 family and is localised to the endoplasmic reticulum membrane as a single-pass membrane protein.

The kit reports a detection range of 7.8-500pg/mL and a sensitivity of 5.4pg/mL. Precision has been characterised with an intra-assay CV of 4.4% and an inter-assay CV of 8.0%. Recovery has been validated at 107% (range 101-113%) for serum and 109% (range 103-115%) for plasma. Specificity is confirmed for natural and recombinant human Cytochrome P450 7A1.
