The Assay Genie Human Chitotriosidase PharmaGenie ELISA Kit quantifies CHIT1, a chitinolytic enzyme secreted primarily by activated macrophages and stored within the azurophilic granules of neutrophils. Circulating chitotriosidase activity is markedly elevated in patients with Gaucher disease, where serial measurement provides a sensitive surrogate marker of substrate burden and response to enzyme replacement therapy. The kit is also relevant for studies of sarcoidosis, fungal infection, atherosclerosis, and other conditions characterised by macrophage activation or altered chitinase expression.

Each microplate well supports quantitative determination in cell culture supernatant, plasma, and serum, bridging cell-based inflammation models with patient sample analysis using a 100 uL sample volume per well. Reagents are supplied ready-to-use with a pre-coated plate, biotinylated detection antibody, streptavidin-HRP conjugate, and serial-dilution standards to generate a 7-point standard curve. Store refrigerated upon arrival; aliquot standards and conjugate components to avoid freeze-thaw cycles and extend shelf life.
