Human Chitotriosidase-1 (CHIT1) ELISA Kit

Designed for the quantitative measurement of human Chitotriosidase-1 (CHIT1), this Sandwich ELISA Kit from Assay Genie is intended for research use only. CHIT1, also known as Chitinase-1, is an enzyme that degrades chitin, chitotriose and chitobiose and may participate in the defence of the organism against nematodes and other pathogens; isoform 3 has no enzymatic activity. Elevated chitotriosidase-1 levels have been associated with Gaucher disease.

The assay is reactive with human samples, including serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. It delivers a detection range of 0.156–10 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.076 ng/mL, with an intra-assay CV of 6.2% and inter-assay CV of 8.4%. Spike-and-recovery in serum averaged 97% (range 91–103%) and in plasma averaged 99% (range 93–105%). Specificity is directed against natural and recombinant human Chitotriosidase-1, positioning the kit for use within immunology research.
