Chitinase 3-like protein 2 (CHI3L2), also called YKL-39, is a secreted glycoprotein belonging to the chitinase-like lectin family that lacks intrinsic chitinolytic activity while retaining glycan-binding capacity. CHI3L2 is preferentially expressed by articular chondrocytes and is actively investigated as a biomarker candidate in osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and other inflammatory joint disease studies. This research-use-only immunoassay kit from Assay Genie enables quantitative measurement of human CHI3L2 in experimental samples, configured for absorbance-based readout and supplied as a complete microplate pack with all required reagents to generate a standard curve and quantify unknowns alongside provided controls.

The kit is validated for circulating human blood-derived samples and processed tissue homogenate preparations, supporting both systemic biomarker research and localized cartilage or synovial tissue workflows. Unlike the more widely studied CHI3L1 (YKL-40), CHI3L2 shows a distinct tissue expression pattern that makes selective quantification valuable for studies of cartilage biology, extracellular matrix remodeling, and chondrocyte differentiation.

Kit components include a pre-coated microplate, reference standard material, detection reagents, wash and assay buffers, chromogenic substrate, and stop solution. Allow reagents to equilibrate to room temperature before use, and follow the package insert for incubation times, wash stringency, and curve-fitting recommendations. Intended for research use only and not for diagnostic or clinical decision-making.
