Chitotriosidase-1 (CHIT1) is a 50 kDa chitinase enzyme secreted by activated macrophages and serves as a widely studied biomarker for Gaucher disease and related lysosomal storage disorders. This quantitative immunoassay from Assay Genie enables researchers to measure CHIT1 concentrations in human serum samples, plasma specimens, and tissue culture supernatants using a microplate-based absorbance readout. The kit is supplied in a 96-assay configuration with all reagents needed to run a standard curve and unknown samples in duplicate.

Each plate includes pre-coated wells, biotinylated detection antibody, streptavidin-HRP conjugate, substrate solution, and standardized calibrators. The assay is intended for research use only and supports investigations into macrophage-driven inflammation, fungal infection response, and metabolic disease pathways. Scientists studying neutrophil activity, pediatric metabolic disorders, or pulmonary conditions such as sarcoidosis will find CHIT1 levels informative for tracking disease progression and therapeutic response.

Working with small sample volumes, the protocol accommodates limited pediatric or longitudinal study collections. Reconstituted reagents should be stored according to the package insert, with the standard curve typically prepared fresh for each run to maintain reproducibility across batches.
