Human cGMP-specific 3',5'-cyclic phosphodiesterase (PDE5A) ELISA Kit

A sandwich double-antibody ELISA from Assay Genie, this kit enables quantitative measurement of human PDE5A (cGMP-specific 3',5'-cyclic phosphodiesterase) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The procedure uses a biotin-conjugated detection antibody followed by avidin-conjugated horseradish peroxidase and the chromogenic substrate 3,3',5,5'-tetramethylbenzidine (TMB), with absorbance read at 450 nm.

Reported performance includes a detection range of 0.156–10 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.077 ng/mL, with an intra-assay CV of 4.1% and inter-assay CV of 9.6%. Average recovery is 94% (range 88–100%) in serum and 96% (range 90–102%) in plasma. The assay detects natural and recombinant human PDE5A. Biologically, PDE5A specifically hydrolyzes cGMP to 5'-GMP, contributing to the regulation of intracellular cyclic nucleotide concentrations and smooth muscle relaxation in the cardiovascular system.
