Human Ceruloplasmin (CP) ELISA Kit

A sandwich ELISA kit from Assay Genie is designed for the quantitative measurement of human Ceruloplasmin (also known as Ferroxidase) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernatants and other biological fluids. The assay is intended for research use only and shows specificity for both natural and recombinant human Ceruloplasmin.

Performance characteristics include a detection range of 31.2-2000 ng/mL and a sensitivity of 15 ng/mL. Intra-assay CV is 4.1% and inter-assay CV is 7.8%. Linearity has been established in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma across dilution ratios of 1:2 to 1:16, with recovery averages of 98% for serum and 100% for plasma (ranges of 92-104% and 94-106%, respectively).

Ceruloplasmin is a blue, copper-binding glycoprotein (6-7 atoms per molecule) with ferroxidase activity, oxidising Fe2+ to Fe3+ without releasing radical oxygen species. It is a secreted protein that colocalises with GCP1 in secretory intracellular compartments and is involved in iron transport across the cell membrane. The associated UniProt accession is P00450.
