The CEP250 protein, also known as C-Nap1, is a ~250 kDa centrosomal scaffolding component required for centrosome cohesion during interphase and is phosphorylated by Nek2 kinase to permit separation at the G2/M transition. CEP250 mutations have been identified in patients with ciliopathies including atypical Usher syndrome and short rib-polydactyly syndrome, making quantitative measurement of this antigen relevant to centrosome biology and ciliopathy research. This Assay Genie kit supports quantification in human clinical samples, enabling studies of centrosomal dysregulation in patient cohorts and in vitro cell culture models where centrosome amplification is implicated in tumor progression.
