CENPU (also called CENP-U or MLF1IP) is a constitutive centromere protein that localizes to the kinetochore and contributes to correct chromosome alignment and segregation during mitosis. Aberrant CENPU abundance has been reported in multiple tumor types, where elevated expression correlates with proliferation rate, mitotic infidelity, and unfavorable prognosis, making reproducible quantitative measurement a recurring need in translational oncology and cell biology laboratories.

This quantitative immunoassay from Assay Genie is supplied in a 96 Assays format, configured for use with the included microplate strip wells, and provides all reagents required to complete a full plate run. Laboratories studying centromere assembly, kinetochore signaling, aneuploidy, and chromosome instability have used CENPU measurement to support experiments including siRNA or CRISPR knockdown validation, characterization of drug-induced mitotic arrest, and stratification of patient-derived specimens in tumor biomarker research.

All kit components are supplied in individual vials and the reagents are intended for research use only, supporting in vitro experimental workflows. The assay is read on a standard microplate reader following substrate conversion, and the kit supports analysis of multiple biological and technical replicates within a single experiment. Researchers investigating the MLF1IP and CENP-50 family of centromere constituents, or the broader CENP-A, CENP-C, and CENP-U network, will find this quantitative readout useful for both hypothesis-testing studies and discovery-phase biomarker screens.
