TP53, also referred to as Antigen NY-CO-13, Phosphoprotein p53, Tumor suppressor p53 or P53 (UniProt P04637), is a tumor suppressor protein involved in regulating cell growth, DNA repair and apoptosis. Mutations in TP53 are commonly associated with various cancers, making it a relevant biomarker for cancer research and therapy development.

Stated performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.156-10 ng/ml, a sensitivity of 0.089 ng/mL, an intra-assay CV of 5.7% and an inter-assay CV of 8.3%. Linearity has been evaluated in serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma across dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16, with serum recovery averaging 87% (range 81-93%) and plasma recovery averaging 89% (range 83-95%). Specificity is reported for natural and recombinant human Cellular tumor antigen p53.
