Description

Assay Genie provides a sandwich ELISA kit developed for the quantitative measurement of Human Cell Adhesion Molecule 3 (CADM3) in human biological samples, including serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The assay uses a colorimetric detection method, is reactive with human samples, and is specific for natural and recombinant human CADM3.

Validated performance characteristics include a detection range of 0.78-50ng/mL and a sensitivity of 0.34ng/mL. Precision is reported with an intra-assay CV of 4.5% and an inter-assay CV of 6.8%. Linearity was assessed at dilutions of 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16, giving serum (N=5) ranges of 90-100%, 107-118%, 102-112% and 109-119%; EDTA plasma (N=5) ranges of 81-94%, 101-109%, 98-108% and 98-106%; and heparin plasma (N=5) ranges of 94-104%, 83-93%, 98-108% and 95-104%. Recovery testing returned averages of 93% (range 87-99%) for serum and 95% (range 89-101%) for plasma.

CADM3 belongs to the nectin family and mediates both calcium-independent homophilic cell-cell adhesion and heterophilic adhesion with IGSF4, NECTIN1 and NECTIN3, while interaction with EPB41L1 may regulate cell-cell junction structure or function. The CADM3 gene maps to chromosomal location 1q21.2-q22 and encodes a single-pass type I membrane protein located at the cell membrane and cell junctions, with UniProt accession Q8N126, NCBI Gene ID 57863 and a molecular weight of 38,326 Da. Listed synonyms include Brain immunoglobulin receptor, IGSF4B, NECL-1, SynCAM3 and TSLL1. The associated research area is Neurosciences, and dysregulation of CADM3 has been implicated in cancer, autoimmune disorders and neurological disease, supporting its use as a candidate biomarker in disease progression studies.
