Human CD59 ELISA Kit

CD59 is a cell surface glycoprotein that regulates complement-mediated cell lysis and lymphocyte signal transduction. It acts as a potent inhibitor of the complement membrane attack complex by binding complement C8 and/or C9 during assembly of the complex, thereby preventing osmolytic pore formation. CD59 also plays a role in signal transduction pathways in the activation of T cells, and mutations in the protein cause CD59 deficiency, a disease resulting in hemolytic anemia, thrombosis, and cerebral infarction.

Assay Genie provides a high quality sandwich ELISA kit based on a double antibody method for the in vitro quantitative determination of Human CD59 concentrations in serum, plasma, and other biological fluids. The assay has a sensitivity of 18.75 pg/mL and a working range of 31.25-2000 pg/mL. The kit is intended for research use only and is stored at 4°C for 6 months. It is associated with UniProt P13987 and reacts with human samples.

Validation data show serum recovery of 94-103% (average 98%), EDTA plasma recovery of 90-103% (average 98%), and UFH plasma recovery of 85-104% (average 93%). Linearity in serum at 1:2, 1:4, and 1:8 dilutions is 87-100%, 85-101%, and 89-99% respectively, with EDTA plasma at 83-100%, 85-100%, and 82-91%, and UFH plasma at 92-96%, 83-89%, and 83-100%. Precision is reported as intra-assay CV<8% and inter-assay CV<10%.
