Description

Developed for the quantitative measurement of human BCAM (CD239), this Sandwich ELISA from Assay Genie uses a double-antibody configuration and a colorimetric detection method. It is validated for human samples and accepts serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid sample types. The kit is intended for research applications exploring BCAM (CD239), a cell adhesion molecule involved in cell-cell interactions, migration and signalling, with dysregulation implicated in cancer and autoimmune disorders.

Performance specifications include a sensitivity of 46.875 pg/mL and a detection range of 78.125–5000 pg/mL. Reported linearity in serum (n=5) spans 89–103% at 1:2, 91–103% at 1:4 and 87–103% at 1:8; EDTA plasma (n=5) returns 82–97%, 87–101% and 84–94% across the same dilutions, while heparin plasma (n=5) shows 83–100%, 81–96% and 84–99%. Recovery sits between 90–105% in serum (average 98%), 85–100% in EDTA plasma (average 93%) and 86–93% in heparin plasma (average 90%).

Components are stored at 2–8°C for 12 months. The assay follows a six-step sandwich workflow: reagent and plate preparation, primary incubation at 37°C for 90 minutes, biotin-labelled detection antibody incubation at 37°C for 60 minutes, HRP-Streptavidin (SABC) binding at 37°C for 30 minutes, TMB colour development in the dark for 10–20 minutes, and a stop reaction with absorbance read at 450 nm.
