This Human CD23 ELISA kit from Assay Genie is part of the PharmaGenie reagent line and supports quantitative measurement of CD23 (Fc epsilon RII), the low-affinity IgE receptor involved in allergic inflammation and B-cell activation. The kit is supplied in a microplate configuration with reagents sufficient for 96 determinations, and is intended for research use only on human-derived samples, with the assay specifically validated for detection of human CD23 and not cross-reactive with rodent Fc epsilon RII orthologues. CD23 is a type II transmembrane glycoprotein expressed on mature B lymphocytes, activated macrophages, eosinophils, and platelets, and is also released as a soluble fragment (sCD23) through ADAM-mediated proteolytic cleavage. Researchers use this ELISA to quantify sCD23 in studies of allergy, asthma, atopic dermatitis, rheumatoid arthritis, and chronic lymphocytic leukemia, where elevated soluble CD23 levels correlate with disease activity and treatment response; a sample volume of 50 µL per well is typically required for the standard curve and unknown determinations. Unopened reagents should be stored refrigerated; reconstituted standards are best aliquoted and frozen to limit freeze-thaw cycles and preserve antibody binding activity across runs.
