Human CD2 ELISA Kit

A Sandwich ELISA Kit from Assay Genie designed for the quantitative measurement of human CD2 levels in research samples. The kit is reactive with human samples and has been validated for use with serum, plasma, cell culture supernatant, cell or tissue lysate, and other liquid samples. It employs a double-antibody sandwich ELISA format with colorimetric detection, offering a sensitivity of 0.188 ng/mL and a detection range of 0.313–20 ng/mL. Unopened components should be stored at 2–8°C for up to 12 months.

CD2 is a cell-surface protein involved in T cell activation and adhesion processes, and abnormal CD2 levels have been associated with autoimmune diseases, immunodeficiencies, and inflammatory conditions, making it a valuable biomarker in immunological research. The associated Uniprot identifier is P06729, and recognised synonyms include LFA-2, T-cell surface antigen CD2, T11, SRBC, rosette receptor and lymphocyte-function antigen-2. The kit is intended for research use within the cell biology field.

The assay procedure involves equilibrating reagents and TMB substrate to room temperature, loading standards and samples onto the pre-coated plate, primary incubation at 37°C for 90 minutes, sequential binding of a biotin-labelled detection antibody and HRP-Streptavidin conjugate, TMB substrate colour development in the dark for 10–20 minutes, and absorbance measurement at 450 nm after stop solution is added. Reported linearity across 1:2, 1:4 and 1:8 dilutions ranges from approximately 83% to 103% for serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma, with mean recoveries averaging around 96–97% across these sample types.
